• House for rent in Hanoi is not difficult to find but housing goes very quickly cause of such a high demand. If you’re looking for a nice place can call HOME, you have to decided it as fast as possible or someone else will be available to take it right from under you. It took me 2 days to find a house for rent in Tay Ho for me and my friends and less than a week later I was settled into a room in shared house, a type of housing for cheap. Now that I have successfully navigated the Hanoi real estate market for rent and I’m here to help you do the same, So here’s how to find housing in Hanoi:

THERE ARE FIVE TYPES OF HOUSING OPTIONS IN HANOI

There are five options for housing to consider: Serviced apartment for rent, Apartment for rent, Condos for rent, House for rent and Villa for rent in Hanoi.

• For serviced apartment, It is normally serviced apartment for rent in Hanoi will comes with fully furnished or partly furnished. ( hardly ever comes with unfurnished). The rentals price including high-speed wifi, Cable TV, water usage, cleaning ( 2, 3 or daily ) times per week), security guard plus camera system 24/7, secure parking lot for car/motorbike and bike, laundry service and it is not incudes drinking water ( 55.000 VND for a Lavie bottles 20L) and electricity bills. ( The electricity about 3.500VND per KW and the bills comes directly from landlord. Each apartment having private electricity meters for you check to know how many KW using per month).
• For apartment: It is normally apartment for rent in Hanoi including high-speed wifi, Cable TV and water usage. It comes with full furniture or fully furnished.
• For Condos: Condominium apartments for rent in Hanoi comes with three options ) Fully furnished, partly furnished and unfurnished). It is available swimming pool, kids playgound, supermarket, coffee shops and shopping maill being on the ground floor, first floor, second floor and third floor of the condo. People living in have to pay for parking such as car, motorbike and bike parking and all utilities of the apartment as electricity, water, high-speed wifi and cleaning service. 
• For house for rent in Hanoi mostly comes with full furniture or partly furnsihed, the house available for 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 or even 07 bedrooms, some houses offers that bedroom having private bathroom and some have to shared bathroom. All bills will comes the end of the month from company and there are 02 ways to paid it. ( first way is they comes directly to gives you the bills and pay in cash or online payments).
• For villa for rent in Hanoi mostly comes with partly furnished or full funiture. Each villas will be available for 03 to 06 bedrooms and car parking. There are many villas having private swimming pool as villas for rent in Tay Ho and without private swimming pool such as villas for rent in ciputra. All bills will comes the end of the month from company and there are 02 ways to paid it. ( first way is they comes directly to gives you the bills and pay in cash or online payments).

WHERE DO YOU WANT TO LIVE IN HANOI CITY?

Hanoi city comes with many district and each offering something of their own. Some people prefer to live in the centre of Hanoi, some others prefer to live away from the city center for a good air and more relaxing experience. For all of these, Tay Ho is best choice and there is a huge expats community living in Tay Ho. Motorbike is a main transportation in Viet Nam because traffic in Hanoi can be crazy. You might be stuck in the traffic jam in rush hour.

HOW TO SEARCH A HOUSE TO RENT IN HANOI?

The best ways is searching on google and a handful of reputable sites will come up. Many website can be found. Generally, the luxury apartment can be found through website by Agent Company, but cheap house through posting on Group. It is good to shop around between sites and group; sometimes if you work with multiple agents, an agent will cut you a deal. I found out that if I search on a website, there will have a listing with my requirements Ex: 2 bedroom, Min or max price… However, when I emailed agents, they responded with multiple options. Call directly to an agency, they can help a lot and get quickly response from them, don’t just contacting by email of a website.

TERMS OF PAYMENT FOR RENTING A HOUSE

Most landlord require for 1 month deposit and 3 months rental when you move in and to continue paying 3 months at time after finish last 3 months. So that means you will have to prepare money before you want to move in. Take note of this before you planning to move to Vietnam!
In additional to this,  many landlords need the deposit if you decide to take the residence for blocking the apartment so that no one can view it. If you hesitate and wait few days to view more, the apartment or house may already be taken by some other. Be sure to ask exactly amount of money you have to pay, and pay by which currency before you visit the apartment so you are prepared.
